The invisible cost of success
Soltana and Next Media taught me that visible success can hide pressure on family, cash flow and self.
The visible picture
From outside, Soltana was growing and Next Media served major outlets. Inside, I carried responsibility, marriage, early fatherhood and cash flow squeezed by advertising’s shift to social platforms.
Protecting the team without denying reality
I hid fear to protect morale. That can work briefly, but a leader also needs a place to tell the truth and ask for help. Strength is not looking fearless. It is refusing to let fear make the decision.
Wasted time is not always wasted
A painful period can look like delay. Later it becomes training in negotiation, people and your own limits. With hardship comes ease, but that promise never replaces the work.
What must be protected?
Before the next target, ask what the project may gain and what the person may lose. Success that breaks everything around it remains incomplete.
